These forged steel shackles provide an alternative to S-hooks with their multiple use capabilities and ease of installation. Their added strength has led some cities and parks to require their use in place of S-hooks. The shackle has a 5/16″ diameter and is paired with a 3/8″ x 1 1/2″ bolt, with a 1/2″ opening at the bolt and up to 1″ at its widest point, allowing for use with chains up to 1/2″ in size. This shackle boasts a tensile strength of 12500 lbs. The shackle has a hardness rating of 212 HBS, while the bolt rates at 176 HBS. With proper use, this product is expected to last up to 5 years under optimal conditions and at least 2 years in harsher environments, although some conditions may require replacement sooner.

Additionally, this S-hook is zinc plated, which enhances its ability to resist rust. It’s important to note that S-hooks bought from non-playground manufacturers may contain imperfections and may not be strong enough to endure playground conditions.

These shackles take the place of S-hooks and need the wrench, PG176P, to open and close. This head makes removal, because of vandalism, more difficult. The overall length is 3 5/16”. The bolts are 3/8” diameter. The inside of the smaller opening is ½” across and the larger opening is ¾”. Unlike S-hooks they can be used multiple times. They are also much easier to install then S-hooks and much stronger. Some cities and parks are requiring their use instead of S-hooks. Use with our swing hangers and chain. The shackle is 212 HBS and the bolt is 176 HBS. The hardness of the bolt in the long needle hardness HRC29 / short needle hardness HRC31. This product should last 2 years in harsh conditions and up to 5 years in optimal conditions. Some conditions may require replacement sooner. Tensile strength 6800 lbs.

Powersplint provides static protection against finger injuries. The straps and padding have some dynamic stretch, allowing for limited finger flexion and increased hand use. It protects primarily the proximal interphalangeal joint (against impact from all angles, including side impact) and provides some distal interphalangeal protection also.

Powersplint is not designed for primary treatment of acute unstable fractures or fracture dislocations or acute tendon injuries. Its use in these or other situations should be at the sole discretion of a trained medical professional.
